This week I had a really cool personal experience. I met and had a conversation with none other than Tyler Hobbs.

For those that don’t know, Tyler is the creator of Fidenza, co-creator of QQL, and probably the most famous generative artist in the world.

Story: Somehow I managed to get an RSVP to the opening reception of his debut solo exhibition in London. We shook hands and exchanged greetings, discussed a particular piece that had caught my eye, and spoke about some things he had done in the past. There were many things I forgot to ask him in the rush of the moment.

One thing that particularly struck me, was his genuine care and authenticity. He truly cared about the conversation, deeply listened to the things I had to say, and remembered both mine and my friends name when we said our goodbyes. As such a huge fan, it meant a lot. He’s a very inspiring person all-round.

And finally one last thing, the Newsletter just broke 1.2k Subscribers. A big thank you to every single one of you for supporting me, it really means a lot 🫶

Weekly Roundup of all 1% Club News:

This week we had an influx of new members to the 1% Community, bringing the total up to 663! This was due to the fact that we recently opened up a free member section to the Discord, allowing people to get a little taste of what they get before joining. 1. Who is Chunky?

Hey everyone, I’m Chunky!

This nickname that’s been stuck with me since elementary school. Never have I thought I’d make a brand out of this name within Web3.

I'm someone who's always seeking out new experiences because I believe that life is too short to stay in one place forever. Whether it's playing music in a band, flying a plane, running businesses, or creating content on Twitter, I find excitement in exploring new opportunities and pushing myself beyond my limits.

I also have a passion for photography, travelling, and vlogging. In fact, this is why I am obsessed with content creation. It allows me to live life and then share my experience with others. 

Currently, I’m focused on building a brand in Web3.

2. What did you do before Web3?

Prior to Web3, I ran two businesses: house painting and Web2 digital marketing (1 year each). The house painting business is where I learned the most. It shaped me into the person I am today. I also had the best coach to learn from who I truly admire.

That experience also taught me how crucial it is to maintain a positive mindset when striving to achieve our goals.

In December 2021, I transitioned my Web2 digital marketing agency to Web3 after finding interest in the digital fashion industry. While it would have been intriguing to continue that path, it is not where I feel I fit in this journey. Not long after, I found my way into an NFT project (Mighty Minions) where I worked as a mod and later promoted to a community manager.

3. What are you working on at the moment?

Right now, I’m working in 2 NFT projects as a community manager. One in which is SolGats and the other is undisclosed for now. I may look for more options to eventually be working in Web3 full-time. Project development is what I enjoy doing and this is the perfect place for me to do so.

I write content about project growth and personal development on Twitter daily. Seeing the positive impact my content has on my friends and surroundings puts a smile on my face every day. This is why I enjoy building my personal brand.

My objective is to build a strong and recognizable brand, along with a community of creators and innovators who share my vision. Together, we can propel the growth of the Web3 space by educating people about NFTs and fostering project development. I have a strong conviction in both the potential of Web3 and our collective ability to shape the future.

I’m currently building my Twitter and newsletter, but eventually I plan on expanding to YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.

4. What is one thing you wish more people would know?

I want people to know it’s okay to try new things and get out of your comfort zone.

I didn’t know much about NFTs prior to become a mod in an NFT project. Furthermore, I had 0 painting and business experience prior to starting my painting business. I also never considered myself a good writer, but many people said what I do inspired them.

Many times, you just have to start and figure out along the way. You don’t need to be the best at anything to start.

I get that self-doubt and imposter syndrome can kick in, and I got to say, I had the biggest imposter syndrome when running my first business, but I still figured it out either way one problem at a time. It’s a common problem amongst many people, and you just have to deal with it.

5. What is one thing you want to leave people with at the end of this newsletter?

I want people to know that making connections is key to success!

Throughout my business years, I’ve made so many valuable connections where we helped each other through our struggles. Surrounding myself with like-minded people also motivated me to keep my head in the game. And building connections in Web3 is no different.

Chunky has an amazing brand, and writes the most aesthetic Threads on Twitter in my opinion. We’ve recently been talking about whether changing the font in your Threads reduces engagement, but definitive results remain to be seen, and requires more research. Following the wise words of the master himself, I’m glad to add someone as valuable as Chunky (that I look up to for inspiration myself) to my list of connections.

1. Who is Tamara7x?

I’m just a girl (not yet a woman?) turned Content Experimentoor. Three of my biggest passions in life are human connection, music and innovation. That’s how I wound up exploring and loving the web3 space, and ultimately how I ended up experimenting with different forms of content.

It all started in July 2021. The lead singer of my favorite band, Avenged Sevenfold, mentioned something called NFTs and blockchain and encouraged us to join Discord, so that we could all hang out in a community called The Wicked Craniums. Not knowing what any of this meant, but fully trusting my long-time idol, I did just that.

The community greeted me with so much love and I immediately decided that this is something I need to be a part of. I was blown away by the innovative technology, its infinite potential, and the unheard of opportunity to connect with people who had always been way out of my reach. I had found my home.

Fast forward almost two years and I have now gotten to experience the joy of being part of something so much bigger than myself. A band, alongside two communities of incredibly passionate people, building a new future for the entire music industry. Changing the way artists interact with and reward their fans. Allowing for deep bonds to be formed between creator and supporter. I have seen immense talent in these communities being utilized by the people to whom they look up to so much. I have made lifelong friendships, both with my idols and with fellow music/innovation enjoyers. Who would’ve thought that any of this could be possible?

2. What did you do before Web3?

I have had a bunch of different jobs because I just love experimenting and trying out new things. Currently I am working as a nursing assistant in a medical detox center where we help people go through withdrawal from drugs and alcohol. I feel really passionate about mental health in general, and have some ideas on how I would like to implement that knowledge in the web3 space. We shall see how that unfolds...

3. What are you working on at the moment?

Currently I am fully embracing my self-proclaimed title of Content Experimentoor. Yes, that’s just a silly way of saying that I love trying out different kinds of content creation. I’m having so much fun with this and it feels liberating to just experiment, regardless of what comes of it.

My main focus lately has been video content. Shout-out to @kmoney_69 and @champtgram on Twitter, for being massive reasons why I went down that path. I never thought I would be making videos, but I have noticed that being in a space so full of creative people really awakens parts of me that I had no idea existed.

When I’m not laying in bed, feeling depressed and unmotivated, I’m bursting with ideas for new videos! Even on days where I feel lost career-wise, the memory of this bubbly creative feeling keeps me going. One thing I know for sure is that I want to continue unleashing my creativity, and I’m certain that this will lead to income eventually. I can’t wait to make a living off of something that truly resonates with my soul.

4. What is one thing you wish more people would know?

It would be cool if more people knew that you don’t have to be stuck in a situation (job related or otherwise) where you don’t feel good. I know taking the shot and trying something different can be terrifying beyond words. I really do understand that. But it always leads to immense growth and the most unexpected gifts, in my experience.

5. What is one thing you want to leave people with at the end of this newsletter?

I want people to know that we’re in this together. Spreading kindness and helping each other is always a good thing, and the communities emerging in the web3 space are perfect for doing just that. I firmly believe that humanity evolves as one, and that we have been given an incredible opportunity here to help everyone grow.

I also want to let you, reading this, know that you’re not alone. Please reach out to me if you want someone to talk to. I know what it’s like to feel like the loneliest person in the f*cking Universe and I want you to know that I’m here for you.

The Work-with-me squad continues to grow. For those not aware, I’ve been running these sessions for just over 3 weeks now. It started off as 2 or 3 of us, and has quickly grown into 10+ and continues to rise.

For this week please give a warm welcome to our fifth guest, Chris D aka. The Shreditor!

1. Who is Chris D. and why should I care?

First off, this community is FIRE, and the high caliber humans here are inspiring as hell 🙌 That being said, you’re reading this newsletter to help you win, so let’s dive right in to the first practical takeaway from my story:

It’s not about YOU.

People show up for themselves, not for you, so give them a reason to show up. Use your voice for things you believe in (on video if you’re brave). Give them something of value before you talk about yourself or your ambition, and just maybe they’ll become interested in you after that. By the way, I’m Chris. I make videos.

2. What did you do before CT?

I was the kid selling stuff out of my backpack in school. I used to time my trips to ToysRUs for the new drops of StarWars toys. If I found anything rare, I’d buy 3 and sell 2 on this new website called eBay. I used to build websites in trade for merch and skateboard gear, film and edit content with the community, and get wrecked doing what I loved everyday with my friends. My childhood in the 90s prepped me for CT.

I turned my skillet to customizing cars at 19, and launched a company called FlyRyde.com in 2004. I used the buy / sell / create skills I learned as a kid to make custom automotive lighting products and services, and used YouTube to teach people about it. Social Media became a huge part of building my business and community, with Video always at the center of my brand.

3. What is the main thing you are working on right now?

As it turned out, helping people learn with video content, by simplifying complex ideas and processes, was actually a much more lucrative and scalable skill set than modifying fancy cars with my hands. Now I help people do the same thing I was in the trenches doing for the past 25 years, to build their personal brands, web3 businesses, and communities.

I started a creator education business called Shreditor.com. The name is a mashup of a Shooter / Editor / Producer, but the platform itself goes way beyond that. It’s a resource for Social Audio Hosts, Co-Hosts, LiveStreamers, Podcasters, Copywriters, and now even TimeStampers. It’s a free blog, online courses, and a place where I plan to put a spotlight on others.

We need more creators in web3, and I think teaching what I used to grow my little niche company to 100K on YouTube and TikTok is not only what I’m meant to do, but it’s also a ton of fun! I’ve even CoFounded a web3 company with some extremely talented friends, where we’re actively hiring and paying creators for their content. It’s called WenMedia.

4. What is one thing you wish more people would know?

Your own path is the only race you get to run. Comparison is the thief of joy, and mental health and self love are your only hope if you want to make it as a content creator. Embrace and appreciate your failures and adversity, and always be your own biggest fan. Be grateful for the wins and losses, and never forget that your time is precious, and nobody will value it more than you do, so use and sell it wisely.

5. What is one thing you want to leave people with at the end of this newsletter?

I love the idea that I can lean into my strengths, and in the words of GaryVee, “punt my weaknesses”. Since I focus so much on getting better at what I’m already great at, it’s become increasingly natural to see my weaknesses and failures as opportunities for others.

For everything I suck at, there’s somebody out there who not only excels at that thing, but LOVES it, and would be happy to get paid to do that thing. It’s exciting to be a builder, and to spend every day working hard in my lane, and finding others that impress the hell out me in theirs.

1. Who is Ray Alva?

I’m a regular person who just happened to become obsessed with Web3 back in 2015-2016. I believe in hard work and persistence. I came to our space with 0 experience and I absorbed as much info as I could from people that were way smarter than me and built the tools that would become the basis for our entire Ecosystem.

On the creative side, I love YouTube and content creation. Besides working with a lot of different creators in the space, my best friend and I started a channel in 2015 and were able to grow it to one of the most viewed channels in the world. I’m proud of it not because of the heights we were able to reach but because I was able to do it with a great friend.

Relationships to me are important. Trust is important. I believe that is the lens with which I view the world. This is why every job I’ve ever had has had a 1 on 1 component where I get to work with people directly. I definitely carried it over into Web3 and it’s been one of the best experiences of my life.

2. What did you do before Web3?

Prior to working full time in Web3, I was working with YouTubers in 2015 as I had been for the past few years at the time. I mostly focused on creative direction and overseeing brand deals. That time really helped open my eyes to the importance of creating good content and making a connection with your audience.

I also was working at a law firm at the time so my schedule was pretty packed. Even so, I always kept my ear to the ground when it came to Bitcoin and other cryptos of the time. It wouldn’t be until a year later that I started getting involved in more communities. I ran a validator for a project called ARK. Later on, the same project offered me my first full time job in Web3 as a strategic partnerships manager. A few years later, with the trust of my team and mentors I was appointed CEO of ARK Ecosystem SCIC. 

3. What are you working on at the moment?

At the moment my entire company is all-in on creating Dashbrd (pronounced “Dashboard”). This product’s purpose is to improve the user journey/experience in Web3. Everything from a portfolio to view your assets, to “collections” where you can organize and view your NFTs, all the way to “Communities” where you can stay tapped into what’s going on with your favorite projects without having to dedicate massive amounts of time to monitoring Twitter and Discord.

If we are going to onboard the next wave of users into Web3 we need to simplify. Too many people are juggling complicated systems to manage their crypto and NFTs. A lot of the systems are not intuitive enough to give regular users the confidence necessary to jump into Web3. When you compound this with the education gap in our space, the outlook only worsens.

With Dashbrd, our team hopes to bring a really simple UI and a knowledge base of educational content that will make Web3 simple for new users while alleviating the pain points of the users who are already here. We are truly striving towards making it the universal dashboard for Web3. We are going to have a lot more info coming out on Dashbrd in the near future, complete with special events and rewards for early adopters. Best way to keep up is by following Dashbrd on Twitter.

4. What is one thing you wish more people would know?

I would want people to know that participating and immersing yourself into something will take you a lot further than waiting for the perfect time to begin a new endeavor.

When I started learning about Web3 I jumped headfirst into a few crypto communities. I didn’t know much about consensus mechanisms, hot vs cold wallets, or TVL, but I didn’t let that stop me. Through participating and contributing to projects early on with my unique skill set, I was able to forge important relationships with the people around me. This not only led to opportunities career-wise but it also allowed me to expand my knowledge.

I think what holds a lot of people back is the fear of failure. It’s ok to fail and it’s ok to be a beginner at something. Get comfortable with it and take your first step.

5. What is one thing you want to leave people with at the end of this newsletter?

I want people to know that the most important skill you can cultivate is kindness. Giving your knowledge and time without expectation of anything in return. Connecting and helping people is one of the greatest joys in life. It’s why the 1% Better Club has been so successful in the early days. Bringing all types of people from different walks of life together under a positive mindset. It’s something that is noticeably absent in Web3 at the moment, with only a few communities working towards that ideal.

This is also a good time to mention that there is nothing I love more than helping others with their content creation journey. Feel free to take advantage and use me as a resource and ping me on Discord or Twitter. Let’s keep being the change we want to see in Web3!

I’m currently rethinking some of the content for these Newsletters:

1. I might condense ‘Community Initiatives, Achievements and Contributions’ into simply ‘Community Highlights’. This will make it less structured and more free to feature basically anything the community wants featured.

2. I might also change or remove the Job/Networking Board because at this point in time it isn’t being used enough to continue adding. (Although it will definitely make a comeback at some point in the future, so don’t worry).

We tested some ideas to see what would work, and now we can learn from them to improve the Newsletter experience even more.

On Tuesday we also had our first ever Accountability Meeting. This was one of the most highly requested sections of the Newsletter, which you can tell because it was a huge success with many people showing up for the meeting. For this week please give a warm welcome to our fourth guest, S4mmy.ETH!

1. Who is S4mmyEth?

I am someone with a selective, addictive personality. I traverse deep down rabbit holes, which is how I stumbled into web3.

I quit my full-time corporate job of 10 years because I was frustrated with the slow, predictable progression. I wanted something to put my own stamp on, where I reap the rewards directly. There’s no safety net and I’m at a rare time in my life where I can take these risks.

I strongly believe in decentralization and empowering individuals to seize their own financial freedom. I’m a firm believer that the tech we work on now will disrupt and give many a fighting chance in achieving this freedom. I have never been so fulfilled in using my research expertise to provide free educational content to others.

2. What did you do before Web3?

My background is in traditional finance (TradFi) qualifying as a chartered accountant at Ernst & Young (EY) in London.

I came across blockchain tech, and decentralized finance, through the blockchain working group while seconded to EY Australia.  I soon realized how early it was with institutional interest ramping up, discovered NFTs in May ’21 and made the leap to full-time web3 in November ’21.

Since leaving EY, I joined Origins Analytics to head up their research team, focusing on data analytics for the NFT market. I write their web3 content on both macro trends & individual projects or protocols. I also provide free educational content and overlay my tradFi knowledge to help others understand web3 via my Twitter. 

3. What are you working on at the moment?

I started a web3 Substack newsletter (S4mmy’s Snippets) last month and have been surprised by its growth. It’s currently at 300 subscribers. Irrespective of the numbers I will be issuing this weekly every Tuesday purely out of the enjoyment I receive from researching and writing about the non-fungible segment of crypto. 

I intend to continue ramping up my content engine to develop a self-sustained content business, hopefully, supported by future integration of a payment layer on Twitter and diversification of risk across other content creation platforms.

I have a team of 10 analysts Analysts at Origins and we will be scaling up the output of analysis once the software launches next month (currently in beta). So if there are any budding writers specializing in NFTs, hit me up!

4. What is one thing you wish more people would know?

The past 18 months in web3 have been a steep learning curve. The lessons learned:

 1) Consistency is key, especially in an economy reliant on ever-shortening attention spans.

 2) Compounding small beneficial habits works wonders across long timeframes.

 3) Stepping out of your comfort zone is incredibly rewarding in the long run, so take calculated risks.

 4) The inflection point is always something I am mindful of. It’s important to adapt and pivot, but maintaining conviction in a route you believe in for long enough to see the benefits come to fruition is important.

5. What is one thing you want to leave people with at the end of this newsletter?

Community, human interaction and a sense of belonging ring true. Find your “raisson d’etre”. Once you do, try everything you can to keep doing what you love.

The future possibilities that web3 has to offer excite me. I have every intention of dedicating my life to researching and sharing the knowledge I accumulate along the way. Anyone that is London based, hit me up - we have several in-person web3 meetups for co-working and socials.

To me, this is the very start of a long and rewarding career in web3.

Finally, we had a ton of Club Calls last week. They continue to be one of the best features about the 1% Club:

• I have been running my Pomodoro Streams daily since Thursday.

• On Friday we had some of our top-tier Spaces Hosts Shiv, ByZianna, and Sanza host their Club Call on the topic of ‘Take Your Twitter Space To The Next Level.’

• On Friday we also had our Weekly Club Call for the whole of the 1% Community to take part in hosted by NFTGod.

• And yesterday (Sunday) we had our amazing Community Leader Lonewolf host another one of his Weekly Meditations.

1. Who is Flourish and why should I care?

Hi, I am Flourish. I recently have been taking my Twitter content a lot more seriously, and am overall focusing on building a brand. The reason you should care, well let's get to that. I post self help content, and with that attach some visuals so that you can actually see the ideas as well as read them. This was directly inspired by Visualize Value, run by Jack Butcher.

2. What did you do before CT?

Good question, and there really is more to life than CT. Just kidding, CT is life. But in all seriousness, I went all in to sneaker reselling. My friend put me on it after I spammed him with questions, and eventually I went for some shoes, and I had the wildest beginner's luck. For another 2 years, I kept flipping shoes, getting deeper in the world of sneakers, and scratched the surface of the business world within sneakers. I tried some startups, and although they went well in the beginning, none were really sustainable. So I kept pivoting, adapting, and trying new ideas

3. What is the main thing you are working on right now?

Besides my own Twitter account, the main thing I am putting all my time and effort into is The Dinner Party. This is a podcast/space that I run with IV and Ptrck, two amazing creators in the space. We run this space Thursday through Sunday at 7PM EST. On Thursday however, it is the podcast we run with a guest, whereas the other ones we run are spaces with our audience. This podcast is published on all audio podcasting platforms and even YouTube, with a nice little animation to make it visually appealing for those who would prefer to watch. This pod is all about self improvement and learning from the people who have already done what you want to do. The guests we have gotten already are great, but they are only getting better from here.

4. What is one thing you wish more people would know?

I wish more people would just realize they have to do something for a long period of time. The amount of times I went did something for a day, week, or month, and thought it was not working would blow some people's minds. I never really had a thing where I truly thought I could do it for years to come and make something big of it. If you were really able to achieve the dream life you wanted to, how is that not worth a few years time? Alex Hormozi has a good quote here that says "If there was a contract you could sign and you would make $30k for 5 years but after the 5th year you would make $1M per year, would you sign it? Yes. But most people do not live like they would." Internalize that for a bit.

5. What is one thing you want to leave people with at the end of this newsletter?

Start surrounding yourself with the types of people you see in the 1%. Even if NFTGod sat back and didn't do anything with the group, it would still be well worth it, because of the types of people he attracts with his content. I have never truly known what it is like to have a circle of motivated people who enjoy content creation, investing, etc. I have an accountability partner for the gym, but I have never had it in business, in life, in my pursuits and passion. The people you surround yourself with will either keep you the same, drag you down, or build you up. You choose which one you want.

NFTGod announced the first ever ‘1% Better: Rewards’ content challenge, with the first submission topic being: Threads. The art for the NFT reward has also been revealed, with the creator being Papa Rocko. The competition is still open for submissions until Wednesday, so make sure to make your entry soon! 

We also had the implementation of reaction roles. If all of your subcommunities suddenly disappeared and you’ve been left confused, this is why. All you have to do is go into the choose-your-role channel and choose which topics you’re interested in. After doing this they will appear back in your sidebar. 

Finally we had the new Newsletters subcommunity channel opened. This is the channel to discuss anything & everything around the creation/management/monetisation of Newsletters (not for posting links to shill your own).
BUT it has a secondary purpose. 1. Tell us a bit about yourself:

My name is Amir. I am an entrepreneur & music & visual artist. Right now I'm building my personal brand in Web3 space. 

I worked my way up from a waiter to the owner of a digital studio that serves such names and brands as: Warner Music, Atlantic Records, Kimberly Clark, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, David Guetta, twenty one pilots and many others.

I've always had a huge passion for music and the music industry. 

I started my first rock band in 2008 - and in 8 years we played several hundred shows, toured, and even worked with a Grammy-nominated producer.

Now I'm preparing my best music project - it will be at the crossroads of web3 and web2. And I don't care about the result. I'm finally enjoying music for real. 

2. What is your background in Web3?

In November 2021, I was the art director of a major music NFT collection in Russia, in official collaboration with Binance NFT and Warner Music. 

After that I got interested in blockchain metaverses - together with my team, we learned about The Sandbox and Decentraland and started building experiences in these metaverses. 

In April or May 2022, I came to crypto Twitter to get a deeper understanding of web3. 

3. What are you working on in Web3 now?

Since then I've met a lot of friends, started minting and selling my art on Ethereum and Tezos, and hosted weekly Tezos Spaces on Wednesdays where we've bought over 500 NFTs from artists, and continue to improve myself. 

Right now I'm building a personal brand in the Web3 space, supporting artists & creatives in my spaces, and building a community of like-minded people who are passionate about mutual support and self-growth. 

And, of course, I'm preparing my music project to launch. 

I'm also slowly starting to help Web3 people build their best visual presence online. 
So many people create great textual content, and at the same time their unappealing visuals discourage their potential new followers.
I believe we need to improve the look of our "facade" on the way to mass adoption. This is a critical point for building greater trust with "normies."

I'm not a fan of NFT collections. I'm still not good at it. But I really enjoy collecting 1/1 art on Tezos and Ethereum. 

4. What other things would you like to tell people?

I am a big fan of human creativity, love, kindness, generosity, and an open mind. 
I love anyone who sees a better tomorrow, who knows themselves and the world around them with an open mind.
My main goal in life is to find the keys to eternal peace on earth. As naive as that may sound. 

I do not believe in the values of any armed conflict, I do not believe in the "truth" of either side. 
War is just business, a dishonest and inhumane business. 
Sooner or later this business will fall. 
Let me appear naïve in the eyes of many. It makes absolutely no difference. 

I have great respect for the 1% Club by NFT God, 
Bricktopians community by AlexIsBuilding, 
as well as our beautiful TezFlava family.

The Web3 community has taught me so much, from a basic understanding of how NFT works, to improving my copywriting skills. 

But most importantly, for the first time in my life, I felt the meaning of sincerely searching for my "I" and my "why. 
It happened exactly in the web3 world.

Macki is starting a Community Initiative called ‘Boost o,clock’. This initiative aims to boost Twitter engagement by scheduling a dedicated group of members to write a Tweet at 12:00am EST every Thursday, and then immediately after they respond and interact with the posts from each other member within the group. By creating high quality and immediate interactions to Tweets, it makes it more likely for the Twitter algorithm to pick it up and gain impressions. This could be a powerful tool to use, so if this interests you, be sure to DM Macki. 

MrMeme has also coordinated with NFTGod to host the first ever official 1% Club Twitter Spaces. This will be a regular Twitter Space hosted by NFTGod, co-hosted by 1% Club and MrMeme, and with guest speakers from the community to talk about topics that they are an expert in. The first space will take place on 02/02/2023 (Thursday) and will focus on the topic of video creation with Ray Alva and Alex is Building as guest speakers. 

Achievements

Firstly, can we give a warm congratulations to JayB for his recent achievement this week. JayB was accepted to speak at a conference for the New England Association of Financial Professionals in May about Blockchains, DAOs and NFT's. The topic is "Why should Corporate Treasury Professionals care". They also asked him to speak at a local chapter meeting in March. This is a huge leap into the professional world of Web3, so make sure to message JayB if you have any ideas that could help. 

Congratulations are also in order for doggfather who recently got invited to become a regular speaker of ‘The Vault’. The Vault is a live show hosted on Twitter Spaces and Youtube, where they cover the topic of Historical NFTs, with doggfather speaking as the specialist in Counterparty and Dogeparty historical assets. The Vault is set up by EmblemVault, a service provider that is wrapping non-Ethereum NFTs to Ethereum and can be found here: https://twitter.com/EmblemVault

Accountability Section

J0ngA has graciously volunteered his time and effort to lead this Community Initiative. His current plan is to host a weekly call in VC where members can discuss how well they hit their goals for the previous week, and outline their goals for the coming week. The summary of these meetings would then be featured in the Community Newsletter to increase the level of accountability.

This Newsletter is completely focused on the community of the 1% Club. So please keep using the threads in the Newsletters channel as much as possible! Without the content, there can’t be much of a newsletter.

Starting next week I will be making more of an effort to bring in guest writers, so expect some things to change slightly. I’ll see how it goes and continue to make decisions to improve the Newsletter from there. I intend to also make it shorter in the future.

Community Feedback

Before we get started, I have some Community Initiative ideas to share with you. But you need to tell me what YOU want. Help me save precious time by knowing which initiatives people will actually use. So please ONLY vote ‘Yes’ if you truly see yourself using and finding value in these initiatives. Note: You won’t be able to react to these unless you have subscribed (unfortunately I can’t turn this setting off). These initiatives are:

1. Web3 Work-with-me Pomodoro Productivity Sessions. The Pomodoro technique has been scientifically proven to be effective at boosting productivity, and group studying aka. Social Facilitation/Body Doubling, has been proven to do the same. By livestreaming my own Pomodoro work sessions on Discord, you can join me and together take advantage of both techniques to boost your own productivity. This approach has been shown to be successful, with work-with-me Youtube livestreams consistently drawing thousands of viewers. With Web3 full of ‘builders’, it seems like the perfect market fit. I plan to start with shorter sessions and gradually increase their length if people like them.

2. Twitter Influencer List. NFTGod talks about how one effective way to grow your initial following is by engaging with influential figures in the NFT space. This list would include only the top influencers in the space who actively support and promote their reply guys. By following and giving high quality comments, you could be the one fortunate enough to get a retweet and gain hundreds of followers in a day. Supplement this with your own List of Influencers who are in your niche and do the same for maximum growth early on. 

3. The Daily #GM Curation - a daily curation of the most engaging, positive, and interesting GM messages from across the space. This one is more for my personal Twitter rather than exclusively for the Discord, but I’d appreciate your feedback anyway. Every morning, I would spend 10 minutes curating the best GM messages and compiling them into a single post, making it easier for GM enthusiasts to get their daily dose of only the best GM’s. As a reward, those featured in the post will also receive that day's unique GMCuration NFT token. This initiative aims to start people's mornings with positive motivation, build on the community and culture of the space, and perhaps also GM engagement farm whilst actually providing value at the same time (for once). 

In the future this personal section from me will be much much shorter/non-existent. I just want to make sure I’m providing as much value to this community as possible with the time I have available. Now onto the main section of the Newsletter. 

Weekly Roundup of all 1% Club News

As of today (23/01/2023) we have 386 1% Club Discord Members! It’s been rapid growth and I’m looking forward to that continuing as we welcome many more members. The best thing about this community is how we’ve managed to keep the same supportive culture throughout all this growth. We are truly building something special here!

We also have congratulations to give for our two newly promoted Community Leaders Byzianna and Ray Alva! Byzianna has been extensively helping NFTGod behind-the-scenes, and Ray has led the charge of the video-creators subcommunity, trailblazing ahead and turning it into one of the most active sub-communities in the 1% Club. 

Sunday also marked the closing of the ‘NFT GOD X IKORMA’ collection. This was an Open Edition set (meaning an infinite number could have been minted) and was used as a way to support NFTGod recover from the dreaded hack event. The supply finally closed at 558 making it an extremely limited collection. NFTGod is airdropping one ‘1% Better: Rewards’ NFT (more on this later) to a random holder of this collection once per month, and has hinted at additional utility for collectors down the line. 

Community Spotlight

This section is used to deep-dive on Community Member’s one at a time, to give them the chance to talk about anything and everything they’re doing in the Web3 Space. For this week please give a warm welcome to our first ever guest, James aka. JMCACrypto showcasing his project HouseHaeds, a new PFP art project launching on Ethereum.

1. Tell us a bit about what you’re working on: 

I’m currently working on bringing a new original project to web3 called HouseHaeds. It’s a concept we’ve been working on for the past year with the goal of pushing PFP art and Web3 in a fun, unique direction while building an extremely tight knit community.

From the beginning, we told our team we wanted to have fun and give them creative freedom to bring their best to the NFT space, and they’ve blown my mind every step of the way. Over the past year, we’ve grown from a team of 2 to around 25 across the globe (North America, EMEA, and Africa).

It’s been extremely fun because a lot of our creators have worked with major brands such as Coca-Cola, BMW, Intel, Burger King, Ducati, Gatorade, and  Lamborghini and they are now being told they have complete creative control to come up with whatever they want. 

At this point, I can’t release much more information yet, however, we decided to take a unique approach to NFT art, specifically PFPs, along with a very different approach to web3 experiences compared to current projects. We want to engage our community with clues that tell a story, almost like a treasure hunt. We’ve taken great care to make sure that everything in the collection is there with a purpose and that we bring the very best in quality to the space.

2. How did HouseHaeds come about?

My first experience with NFTs was the Sandbox Alpha Season 1. I had my aha moment when I walked into the Alpha Hub and saw the Bored Apes hanging on the wall in the museum. I immediately knew right then and there that this space has amazing potential for bringing out the best in creativity as well as a brand new way to experience art.

The HouseHaeds concept started after my co-founder Macca and I were rugged on a Solana project in January 2022. It was my first real experience buying into a project and it left a sour taste in my mouth. We both recognized that if the NFT space were to grow, it needed to be a safe, welcoming environment and so we set out to do just that. We started by bringing a lot of our web2 friends that had no experience to NFTs and converting them into believers in this space.

It meant scrapping a lot of early ideas and content we came up with because it wasn’t good enough. Ultimately, we found an artist, David Sossella, whose unique art style meant we had endless possibilities in both art and experience creation.

3. Are there any particular artists or collections that you’re a fan of?

The thing about Web3 is that there is so much talent across so many mediums. I am a big fan of a lot of projects where the Founders are continuing to build no matter the market conditions. Sappy Seals with Pixl Labs; The Plague with DaPons, I truly believe are setting the stage for tremendous growth in the space.

Regarding individual artists, obviously I’ve fallen in love with David Sossella’s artwork. Despite the hundreds of hours I’ve spent pouring over the collection, I keep coming back, which is what I want for everyone. Then there’s Grant Yun and Tyler Hobbs, which I was introduced to thanks to DepecheNode’s podcast.

4. How can people get involved with the project?

For the time being, we are a closed discord, but are allowing interested folks to come in and get a look behind the scenes. Anyone interested can DM me, or fill out an interested application here.

Community Activities/ Contributions

For the first ever community member highlighted for their contributions to the 1% Club, I would like to give special attention to TheMustach3. He spent a lot of time creating the Notion ‘New Member Portal’ template which is coming next week (more info on this in the final section of this newsletter).

Ray Alva and amirmushich also hosted a Club Call on Video Creation, setting the standard of how best to leverage this community and get the most value possible. Interacting with each other to learn and grow is exactly what this community is all about. Amir also has his own studio: mushich.com and has been considerably helpful to both myself and NFTGod behind the scenes.

Coming up this week

This coming week will be the inaugural release of NFTGod’s ‘1% Better: Rewards’ NFT. His first ever NFT Collection. This collection will be one drop per week rewarded to a community member for the best content creation, as judged by NFTGod. The art for this NFT will also be curated from community member submissions, also chosen by NFTGod himself. This will form a major part of the ecosystem for the 1% Club going forward, with planned utility to be given to the set throughout the year. It is designed to motivate and encourage participation by the community to create high-quality pieces of content, whilst perhaps also introducing a little bit of friendly competition. With only an estimated 75 NFTs in the set by the end of 2023, this will be an extremely rare piece. 

Another release we can expect to come this week is a New Member Portal, created by TheMustach3 and finished by NFTGod. This will be a centralized Notion page containing all information that new members need to navigate the Discord correctly, and will help scale the community efficiently as the 1% Club continues to grow. It will also include a directory of resources for current members to use such as the 1% Branding Graphics to use when starting community initiatives, a list of community member Newsletter links, and a number of other things. 

Talking of Community Initiatives, we have another four initiatives started by community members this week:

• Ray Alva is starting his ‘Office Hours’ initiative where you can book a short call with him in VC to talk anything and everything to do with video creation. Having generated 2 billion+ views on Youtube, you’d be silly not to have a chat with him. You can book here: calendly.com/ark-ray

• Lonewolf is also starting his weekly community Meditation Sessions initiative in the Discord VC, with the first one being tonight at 8pm EST. He will lead you through a short 10 minutes of guided meditation, and The Phunky One will finish the session off perfectly with a ring from his singing bowl to bring you back to reality. 

• As a seasoned public speaking coach with his own Youtube channel: Hugo Presents, Hugo has been kind enough to host a public speaking coaching session in the Discord VC once per month, with the first one being on 31st January. 

• And finally Miguel is hosting a club call on the topic of Web3 UX on 30th January. As an experienced product designer with his own studio: index96.com this is one to be sure not to miss. 

Anyone can start Community Initiatives. The clue is in the name, everyone can take the initiative and start any community activity they choose. As long as it aligns with the community values, you have full permission to act with autonomy and build on the community however you like. In fact, it is encouraged! Anyone who shows exemplary effort in their contributions to the community can and will be considered for promotion to Community Leader! (Contribute now before spots get taken up).

And finally, the next Club Call Weekly Meeting will be on Friday as always. The time changes each week to accommodate multiple time zones, so keep an eye out for when that information is released. Make sure to be there!
